Try it with no hardware (Demo mode)
ARRF ships with a simulated survey so you can explore the whole AR experience — cubes, the floor plan, and the Results grade — without any RUCKUS hardware on hand.
What Demo mode does
Section titled “What Demo mode does”Demo mode runs the real survey pipeline against one virtual access point called Demo AP. The virtual AP is anchored a short distance ahead of and above your starting position; its signal follows a free-space path-loss model, so you start in the strong-signal “hot” zone and the reading fades as you walk away. Cubes drop, AP auto-locate converges, the floor plan builds, and Stop produces a genuine Results screen — the same as a live survey, just with synthesised signal.
Demo mode always runs in Continuous capture (hands-free), so you just walk.
How to start the demo
Section titled “How to start the demo”On a fresh install the Survey lobby’s source is already Demo, so you can just tap Start Survey.
If you’ve already connected to gear and want the demo back:
- Open the Survey tab.
- In the Where picker, choose Demo — labelled “Simulated walk — one virtual AP, no hardware.”
- Tap Start Survey and walk.
The lobby explains the mode inline: “No RUCKUS hardware needed. Start and walk — a virtual AP drops cubes just like a live survey, its signal fading with distance. Switch to a venue or Manual in Where when you have gear.”
Switching to a real survey
Section titled “Switching to a real survey”Pick a RUCKUS One venue or Manual in the Where picker. The moment you choose either, the demo switches off and your real source persists across launches. See Connecting to your RUCKUS APs.
