What is ARRF?
ARRF turns your iPhone into an augmented-reality Wi-Fi survey tool. You walk a space, and signal strength blooms into 3D cubes anchored right where you measured them — a heatmap you see through the camera, not a flat map you decode later.
It is built for wireless professionals who administer RUCKUS access points. ARRF logs into your own APs over the local network and reads the live signal, channel, and client data they measure, then paints it into the room around you.
What it measures (and what it doesn’t)
Section titled “What it measures (and what it doesn’t)”ARRF reads signal from the AP’s side — how the serving access point hears this iPhone. That is the uplink direction. iOS gives third-party apps no downlink RSSI and no passive multi-AP scan, so ARRF measures one device’s connection health and roaming behaviour as you walk, not an area coverage map of every client. Uplink is the conservative direction, and every grade and report says so explicitly.

What you can do

- Colour by the metric that matters — signal, SNR, uplink/downlink rate, or band. See Cube colors, labels, and detail.
- See where your APs are — ARRF estimates AP locations and lets you pin them by hand. See AP locations and roaming.
- Reconstruct the space — an optional LiDAR floor plan renders your walk as a 2D map and a 3D dollhouse.
- Grade your coverage — a Results summary scores the survey and flags weak spots and roaming events.
- Find a device — match a phone’s motion against what the AP hears to confirm which client it is.
- Export — PDF site-survey report, CSV, and JSON.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- iPhone running iOS 17 or later. ARRF is iPhone-only and runs in portrait.
- A LiDAR-equipped iPhone is recommended for floor-plan reconstruction and wall occlusion. Everything else works without LiDAR.
- Access to your RUCKUS access points on the local network over SSH (TCP 22). Your test iPhone may need to be permitted through any management ACL or firewall.
Private by design
Section titled “Private by design”ARRF runs entirely on your device. There is no account, no backend, and no analytics. It talks only to the access points you administer, on your local network, and any credentials are stored solely in the iOS Keychain. Nothing leaves your iPhone.
