Settings reference
The Settings tab holds accounts and defaults. The where of a specific survey (venue or APs) is chosen in the Survey lobby; Settings holds everything else. This page lists each section and its real defaults.
RUCKUS One account
Section titled “RUCKUS One account”Connect a RUCKUS One tenant to survey by venue with automatic AP passwords. Region (default North America), tenant ID, client ID, and client secret (Keychain-only), plus Test connection and Disconnect. Full details in Setting up a RUCKUS One account.
Connection
Section titled “Connection”- Target SSID — the WLAN surveys poll. Default empty; set it here or via the SSID picker.
- APs — the manual AP IP list (2–5) and per-AP SSH passwords (Keychain, per IP). Default empty.
Surveys log into each AP’s CLI over SSH (TCP 22) and read the AP-measured signal at ~2.5 Hz. See Connecting to your RUCKUS APs.
My device
Section titled “My device”Find my device picks the Wi-Fi client the survey follows. Under Advanced you can type the target MAC by hand (default empty). See Find my device.
Survey & capture
Section titled “Survey & capture”| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Placement throttle | 0.3 m | Minimum distance between cubes (0–2 m). |
| Live cube interval | 1.0 s | Minimum time between continuous cubes (0.4–5 s). |
| Floor-plan reconstruction | On | Builds a LiDAR floor plan; takes effect next survey. |
| Deep RF stats per cube | Off | Extra radio detail per cube, at one extra AP query each. |
| Show survey instructions | On | The “How to run a survey” card on each survey’s first appearance. |
The capture mode (Continuous vs Stop & sample) is picked in the survey lobby, not here.
Display
Section titled “Display”| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Roam markers | On | Draw a post at each handoff (also on the HUD). |
| AP location signs | On | Float an estimated-position sign per AP. |
| Cube colours | Signal (dBm) | The metric the cube fill encodes. |
| Cube label fields | AP name, Signal, Uplink ↑, Downlink ↓ | Up to four near-label fields. |
| Behind walls | Dimmed | How LiDAR-occluded cubes are drawn (Off / Hide / Dimmed). |
See Cube colors, labels, and detail and AP locations and roaming.
Signal
Section titled “Signal”- Use true noise floor — default off; when off, ARRF uses a flat dBm offset.
- dBm offset — default −96, which matches the RUCKUS One dashboard (dBm = SNR + offset). “True noise floor” uses the per-radio measured floor instead (5 GHz ≈ −99).
Grade requirement
Section titled “Grade requirement”The targets the survey grade scores against, captured into every export:
| Target | Default |
|---|---|
| Primary target | −67 dBm |
| Edge target | −72 dBm |
| Min SNR | 25 dB |
Signal is the serving AP’s uplink RSSI/SNR — how the AP hears the phone, not a coverage map. See Results and the survey grade.
Report branding
Section titled “Report branding”Company and Engineer are stamped on exported PDF reports. Leave blank to omit.
