PDF report for your vet
The report is a PDF titled SugarPaws Glucose & Insulin Log covering one cat over a date range you choose: a first page with the glucose and insulin charts, then a summary of the counts, average and readings-in-range, a colour key, and full tables of every reading and dose in the range. It contains no clinical interpretation — the summary is a fixed list of four factual lines and nothing else can appear there — and it says so on the page. Build it from the Report button on the Charts tab or from PDF Report for Your Vet on the Import/Export screen; it comes out through the iOS share sheet (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Files, print…).
Building it
Section titled “Building it”-
Open the range picker: Charts › Report (top right; seeded with the range the charts are showing) or Settings › Export & Backup › PDF Report for Your Vet (also reachable from the History share icon; seeded with the last 30 days).
-
On the Report Range sheet choose a Preset — Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 3 Months, Last Year or Custom Range — or pick Custom Range and set Start Date and End Date (the two pickers are greyed out for the presets). The Export Range box repeats the dates and Duration: N days.
-
Tap Export. A spinner replaces the button while the report is built (a multi-thousand-row report is not instant); the sheet then closes and the share sheet opens with the PDF.
Ranges are whole days: from midnight at the start of the first day to the end of the last, so a reading at 23:50 on the end date is included. The report is always for the active cat; with several cats, switch first (Import/Export says so under the button when All cats is selected for CSV).
What is in it
Section titled “What is in it”File name: SugarPaws_Report_2026-08-16_09-15-02.pdf (the moment it was
built), US Letter pages. Share-sheet subject: SugarPaws log for Mochi,
Jul 17 – Aug 16, 2026.
Page 1 — charts. A rendered page with the title, the cat’s name, the date range and Glucose in mg/dL (or mmol/L), and Generated date. Then Glucose readings — red points on a line, with a green target-minimum line and an orange target-maximum line, and a legend that spells out the values (target minimum (80 mg/dL)) — and Insulin doses, blue bars with the legend recorded doses. An empty series says No glucose readings recorded in this period. / No insulin doses recorded in this period. The footer: Recorded in SugarPaws by the cat’s owner. This page shows recorded observations only and contains no clinical interpretation.
Page 2 onwards — text. Cat: name, Report generated: timestamp, Data range:, then Summary, which is exactly these lines and no others:
| Summary line | Example |
|---|---|
| Date range, with the day count | Date range: Jul 17, 2026 – Aug 16, 2026 (31 days) |
| Glucose readings | Glucose readings: 62 |
| Insulin doses | Insulin doses: 60 |
| Average glucose (only if there are readings) | Average glucose: 214 mg/dL |
| Readings within the configured target range (only if there are readings) | Readings within the configured target range: 18 of 62 (29%) |
| The target range | Target glucose range (as configured in the app): 80 – 180 mg/dL |
Below it, a colour key in small print: readings are coloured by position relative to the configured target range: below target (blue), within target (green), above target (orange). The “vs target” column states the same thing in text. This report lists observations recorded by the cat’s owner. It contains no clinical interpretation.
Then Glucose Readings (N total), newest first — date and time, the value in your unit (coloured), a vs target word (below target / in target / above target), and the note cut to one line with an ellipsis — and Insulin Doses (N total) — date and time, units, the insulin type, the note. Long tables run over as many pages as needed with the section title repeated.
Nothing on any page grades, scores or advises. Variability indices, “time in range”, trend lines and dosing suggestions were removed from the app so they could not reach a document a veterinarian reads.
