Settings reference
The Settings tab is one scrolling form with nine sections. Most rows apply immediately; the sheets (Cat Profile, Reminder Times, Advanced Settings, Import/Export) have their own Save or Done. Settings other than the cat profile are shared by every cat — see Cat profiles for what is per-cat.
The sections
Section titled “The sections”| Section | Rows | Options and default |
|---|---|---|
| Cat Profile | The active cat (photo, name, Tap to edit profile) → Cat Profile sheet; Manage Cats | See Cat profiles |
| Units | Glucose Unit | mg/dL or mmol/L. First-launch default is guessed from your device’s region (mg/dL for the US and a handful of others, mmol/L elsewhere) and confirmed in setup. Changing it re-labels every stored reading (1 mmol/L = 18 mg/dL); nothing is altered. |
| Insulin Settings | Insulin Type; Custom Insulin Name (only when Custom is chosen); Onset / Peak / Duration read-out | Six choices: Lantus (Glargine) (default), Levemir (Detemir), ProZinc (PZI), Vetsulin/Caninsulin, NPH, Custom. The three numbers under it are the selected type’s typical profile — see the insulin activity curve. The name here is stamped on every dose you log from now on. |
| Reminders | Enable Reminders; Configure Times (when on); a Notifications are turned off… hint with Open Settings when iOS permission is denied | Off by default. See Reminders. |
| Appearance | Theme | System (default), Light, Dark |
| Chart Settings | Default Time Range | 24 hours, 7 days (default), 30 days, 90 days — the range the Charts tab opens on; changing it applies at once |
| Data | Export & Backup — Share a PDF report with your vet, export a CSV backup, or import a previous export. | Opens the Import/Export screen: PDF report, CSV export, CSV import |
| Advanced | Advanced Settings | See below |
| About | Version (1.0 (3)), Support, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service | The three links open neuralconfig.com pages in the browser |
Advanced Settings
Section titled “Advanced Settings”A sheet with two sections and a Done button.
Disclaimer Settings › Always Show Disclaimer (off by default). When enabled, the disclaimer will be shown every time the app starts, even if previously accepted. Turning it on shows the disclaimer immediately, too. It never brings the first-run setup back.
Data Management › Danger Zone › Delete All Data. The footer warns: This action cannot be undone and lists what goes — all glucose readings, all insulin dose records, cat profile information, app settings and preferences. Tapping the red button opens a Confirm Deletion sheet (This action cannot be undone. All glucose readings, insulin doses, and profile data for ALL cats will be permanently deleted.) where you must type DELETE in capitals before Delete All becomes tappable; Cancel backs out. Then, in one step:
| Removed | Reset to default | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Every glucose reading and insulin dose, for every cat | Glucose unit → mg/dL (not re-guessed from your region — pick mmol/L again in Units if that is what you use) | Your agreement to the disclaimer — it is not shown again |
| Every cat profile, including photos; a fresh profile named Unnamed cat with an 80–180 mg/dL range is created | Enable Reminders → off; reminder times → 8:00 / 8:05 / 20:00 / 20:05 | The first-run setup does not reappear |
| Insulin type → Lantus (Glargine); custom name cleared | ||
| Default Time Range → 7 days; Theme → System; Always Show Disclaimer → off |
There is no undo and no recovery. If you might want the data, export a CSV of All cats first — see CSV export. Deleting a single cat instead is done from Manage Cats.
